On the morning of August 27, 2022, Shien-Ming Wu School of Intelligent Engineering invite Professor Zhao (Huan Zhao) of Huazhong University of Science and Technology to visit the school and give an academic report on the theme of 'Key Technologies and Applications of Robotic Machining of Large and Complex Surfaces', which is hosted by Kai Wu, an associate professor of the school.

At the report meeting, Professor Zhao Huan give a detailed explanation to the on-site teachers and students on the national major equipment needs and key technology problems, including robot processing geometric parameter identification and kinematics error compensation technology, high-precision measurement - global data fusion technology, force position trajectory generation and compliance control technology, equipment development and industrial application, and answers the questions of the teachers and students in detail.

Huan Zhao, a professor and doctoral supervisor of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, focuses on robot processing and assembly, and medical surgery robot technology. Young Changjiang (2019) of the Ministry of Education, Hubei Provincial Outstanding Youth (2020), Huazhong University of Science and Technology's top ten young faculty members, and the winner of the Silver Award for Outstanding Mechanical Doctoral Thesis of Shanghai Bank and the Shanghai Excellent Doctoral Thesis Award.

More than 80 papers of his were published in domestic and foreign academic journals or international conferences, more than 30 papers were included in SCI, and 54 national invention patents were authorized (3 achievements were transferred). He has successively presided over 3 National Natural Science Foundation projects (including 1 major project project), 1 national key research and development program project/sub task, 1 pre-research shared technology sub task of the Military Commission Equipment Development Department, 1 major special project of Wuhan 'neck sticking' technology, and 1 key project (outstanding youth) of Hubei Natural Science Foundation. He won the first prize of Science and Technology Award of Jiangsu Province in 2018, the silver prize of Excellent Mechanical Engineering Doctoral Thesis Award of Shanghai Bank in 2014, the excellent doctoral thesis of Shanghai City in 2015, the third high impact thesis award of Journal of Mechanical Engineering in 2019, and the sixth excellent thesis of China Association for Science and Technology. Served as the assistant director of the National Key Laboratory of Digital Manufacturing Equipment and Technology, guest editor of IJIRA album, member of the National Robotics Standardization Technical Committee, member of the Robotics Branch of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society and other academic posts.
