报告人简介：

Ir.Dr. Tan Chou Yong, a Professor, is currently serving as Director of Centre ofIndustry Relations at the University of Malaya. A PhD graduate from Universityof Malaya in 2008, he is also a Senior Teaching Fellow for South ChinaUniversity of Technology, China. He specialises in teaching EngineeringThermodynamics, Engineering Materials, Statics & Dynamics, Mechanics ofMaterials, Composite Materials, Ceramics Materials and Materials Selection& Design. His research interests include nanomaterials, bioceramics andfuel cells technology materials. To date, he has published more than 130publications in Web of Science with h-index of 24 and citations more than 1900.He has also completed his supervision on 11 PhD students and 15 Masters byResearch students. Recently, he has secured a grant amounting more than USD 1million as Project Leader from Samsung Electronics, Korea under the UM-SamsungTechnology Track Program, a dedicated initiative aimed at enhancing workforcedevelopment specifically tailored for the semiconductor manufacturing industry.In addition, Ir. Dr. Tan as also won more than 30 awards at numerousinternational/national exhibitions pertaining to his research work. He is aChartered Engineer registered with the Engineering Council UK and is aCorporate Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), UK. He isalso a Professional Engineer under the Board of Engineers, Malaysia and is aCorporate Member of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM, Malaysia).
