INTERNATIONAL ACCELERATED BACHELOR - MASTER OF SCIENCE BETWEEN SUNY ESF AND SOUTH CHINA UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY

   

This accelerated Bachelor of Science (BS) and Master of Science (MS) program (also known as 3+2 program) is in Bioprocess Engineering and Paper Engineering fields.

  

I. Selection of Student Participants

a.All students shall be bona fide students at SOUTH CHINA UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY (SCUT) and be engaged in an Engineering degree-oriented course of study at honor standing. Prospective students will be identified by the faculty coordinator at the SCUT. SUNY ESF will reserve the right to make the final decision regarding the admission of each student nominated.

b.All students participating in the BS-MS accelerated programs must be at least at junior standing before considering taking classes at the host institution. SUNY ESF requires all students physically present at ESF for a minimum of four semesters, complete at least 54 credits hours of study at ESF, and be granted Bachelor of Sciencein an Engineering filed to qualify for MS degree. The exact requirement of the program can change as the educational needs or standards change. Attached is the list of initial program requirements.

c.At least six months before the anticipated date of enrollment, the number of students to participate in the programs for the following academic year will be decided mutually by the ESF Office of the Provost and Vice President for academic Affairs and the designated official at SCUT’s International Office.

d.SUNY ESF will accept students from SCUT to attend at the full tuition and fee rate, currently at about $18,000 per year.

II. Admission

a.The BS-MS accelerated program students will be admitted as non-matriculated graduate students, will have the admissions application fee waived, and must submit all documents requested by the Office of International Education.

b.Students must present a minimum score of 550 (paper-based test), 213 (computer-based test) or 79 (internet-based test) on the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language); or Total: 6 (with no less than 5 in Writing) on the IELTS; or Grade pre-1 on the STEP EIKEN tests to qualify for participation on the exchange. c.The Office of International Education should receive participants’ applications and all supporting documents four months prior to their expected date of enrollment.

d.The students who have completed at least 6 hours of research credits and 12 hours of graduate courses, earned a BS or BSc from SCUT by August prior to the second year residence at SUNY ESF, and completed a MS project proposal, will be admitted as matriculated MS graduate students.
