摘要：Polymeric materials made from natural compounds can improve the biocompatibility of biomaterials. Natural compounds such as bile acids can be made into useful biomaterials after chemical modifications. Self-healing hydrogels, degradable polymers, shape-memory materials and dental resins will be discussed have been made and are promising in biomedical and pharmaceutical applications.

用天然产物研发制备新型高分子材料，可满足对生物医用材料的在生物相容性方面的特别需求。天然产物经过化学修饰，可制备一系列高分子材料，包括自修复功能水凝胶、降解性高分子、形状记忆材料、药物缓释体系和齿科复合树脂等等。这些以天然产物为原料设计合成的新型材料具有生物相容性好、绿色环保、性能优良等特点，显示了良好的应用前景。

个人简介：Prof. Xiao-Xia Zhu obtained his B.Sc. from Nankai University in China and his Ph.D. from McGill University in Canada. He was appointed an assistant professor in 1992 in the Department of Chemistry at University of Montreal where he is a full professor since 2001. His research interests are in the design, synthesis and characterization of new polymeric materials that can be used for biomedical and industrial applications. He was appointed to a Canada Research Chair in polymeric biomaterials and holds a Université de Montréal chair. He has co-authored more than 260 research publications and several patents and has a Hirsch-index of 46. He received the Macromolecular Science and Engineering Award from the Chemical Institute of Canada in 2015.
