The School of Physics and Optoelectronics at South China University of Technology has established a comprehensive talent training system, with a complete training chain from undergraduate, master's, doctoral to postdoctoral, providing students at different stages with broad growth opportunities and high-quality development platforms. The college has two undergraduate majors, Applied Physics and Optoelectronic Information Science and Engineering, both of which are national first-class undergraduate major construction sites. During the undergraduate stage, emphasis is placed on strengthening students' professional foundations, cultivating their innovative thinking and practical abilities through a rich curriculum system and cutting-edge experimental teaching. At the same time, the Yan Jici Talent Class in Applied Physics will be established to provide a distinctive training path for outstanding students. In terms of graduate education, the college recruits master's students in five majors including theoretical physics, condensed matter physics, optics, acoustics, and physical electronics, and doctoral students in physics and physical electronics. It also has a postdoctoral research station in physics. Graduate education focuses on academic frontiers, encourages students to participate in major research projects, and enhances their research literacy and innovation abilities. The college has achieved remarkable results in talent cultivation, and students are able to find high-quality employment every year. Many graduates, with solid professional knowledge and excellent practical abilities, have entered well-known enterprises such as Huawei, ZTE, CATL, Tencent, Alibaba, and iFlytek, shining brightly in their respective fields. Among them, outstanding alumni such as the Chairman of CATL have become industry benchmarks, inspiring generations of students to move forward bravely. The college, with its outstanding talent cultivation model, has delivered a large number of outstanding talents to society and played an important role in the fields of physics and optoelectronics.
