Personal profile

Wang Weichao, Associate Professor, Doctoral Supervisor. Main research directions: special laser glass, near-infrared rare earth luminescence, active fiber and fiber laser, committed to solving basic scientific and technological problems in near-infrared special glass fiber and laser applications. Obtained a PhD in Engineering from South China University of Technology in 2017, and completed a one-year joint training program at Jena University in Germany from 2016 to 2017. Selected for the Postdoctoral Innovation Talent Support Program in 2018. The research work has published more than 40 papers in well-known academic journals at home and abroad, such as Prog. Mater. Sci., Opt. Lett., and Chinese Science, and has applied for 7 national invention patents (6 of which have been authorized). The research results have been awarded the Outstanding Innovation Achievement of the 2020 Boxin Plan. Hosted research projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China General Program, Youth Program, and Innovation Program, and participated as the main executor in key projects and joint fund projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. I have guided undergraduate students to participate in the 10th College Student Material Innovation Competition and won the first prize in the sub competition area and the second prize in the finals. I have also been awarded the honorary title of Excellent Guidance Teacher.

Representative paper results 

Our main achievements are dedicated to solving basic scientific and technological problems in near-infrared special glass fiber and laser applications. Selected for the National Postdoctoral Innovation Talent Support Program in 2018. The research work has published over 50 papers in renowned academic journals at home and abroad, such as Prog. Mater. Sci., Opt. Lett., and Chinese Science, and has been granted 8 national invention patents. The research results were awarded the title of Outstanding Innovation Achievements of the 2020 Boxin Plan.  

I have sponsored six research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China General Program, Youth Program, and Boxin Program. As the main executor, I have participated in national key research and development program projects, National Natural Science Foundation key projects, and joint fund projects.
