Led by Professor Li Zhiyuan, the team currently has 7 full professors and 3 associate professors. The team conducts original basic and applied research on micro nano photonics, laser and ultrasound technologies, as well as their applications in major fields such as basic science, information, energy, healthcare, industrial production, environmental monitoring, national defense and military, with a focus on theory, computation and experimentation. The team has achieved significant results in multiple research directions, including fundamental physics at the forefront of nanophotonics, precise control of light waves/electromagnetic waves/sound waves by artificial microstructures, optical super-resolution imaging, nonlinear optics and full spectrum white light femtosecond laser technology, single-molecule Raman detection and imaging, nanoprocessing and nano3D printing, topological optics and acoustic physics. The team members have published over 600 SCI papers, which have been cited 40000 times, demonstrating their significant influence in the international academic community. The team has trained more than 20 doctoral graduates, over 30 master's graduates, and 7 postdoctoral fellows. In 2017, the team was selected into the the Pearl River Talent Team for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Guangdong Province project. Three members of the team were selected into the national four young talents, and four members were selected into the four young talents in Guangdong Province.
