It has two undergraduate majors, Applied Physics and Optoelectronic Information science and Engineering (all of which are national first-class undergraduate major construction sites), one national first-class undergraduate course approved by the first batch, and three first-class undergraduate courses in Guangdong Province.

(1) Yan Jici Elite Class in Applied Physics (Master's degree, Master's degree)

Yan Jici Talent Class in Applied Physics is a high-level innovative talent training experimental class co-founded by South China University of Technology, Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (hereinafter referred to as the Institute of Physics) and Dongguan Neutron Science Center. The main goal of Yan Jici Applied Physics Talent Class is to train students to become high-level elite talents with solid physics foundation, proficient in physics research methods, and passionate about physical science research by integrating the excellent teaching resources of South China University of Technology with the strong scientific research resources of the Institute of Physics and Dongguan Neutron Science Center. The students of this class adopt 3+1+2 (master) and 3+1+4 (master) training models, and promote in-depth cooperation with domestic top scientific research institutions through various forms such as tutorial system, scientific research practice and international exchange, so as to improve the quality of undergraduate education. About 80% of the students in the Yan Jici Applied Physics Talent Class can be recommended by the school to study for postgraduate qualification without examination, among which excellent students can be directly recommended to the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to study for master's or doctor's degree without examination, and can also be recommended to foreign famous universities for further study.
