Personal profile
Yu Guangzheng is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the Institute of Acoustics, South China University of Technology. He serves as a council member of the Acoustical Society of China, a vice chairman of the Audio Engineering Branch, a member of the Industry Promotion Branch, and a member of the Computational Acoustics Branch of the Acoustical Society of China. Additionally, he holds the position of vice chairman of the Expert Committee of the Guangzhou Electronic Audio Industry Association. In 2009, he obtained his PhD from South China University of Technology. He has visited and taught at institutions such as Queen Mary University of London, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for short periods. In 2011, he was selected as an Outstanding Young Innovative Talent in Guangdong Universities; in 2013, he was selected as a provincial-level training candidate for the Thousand, Hundred, and Ten Project in Guangdong Province; and in 2014, he was recognized as an Outstanding Young Teacher in Guangdong Province. His primary research interests encompass electroacoustics and auditory perception, psychoacoustics, architectural acoustics, automotive acoustics, and acoustic wearable design. He has led four projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and four projects funded by the Guangdong Provincial Natural Science Foundation. He has published over 100 papers, with more than 50 papers appearing in journals such as JASA, JAES, Applied Acoustics, and the Journal of Acoustics. He holds six authorized invention patents, some of which have been commercialized.
Research directions
The main research focuses on audible acoustics in information science, encompassing fields such as acoustic measurement, acoustic signal processing, psychoacoustics, and binaural hearing.
