Alumni Association Overview

The Semiconductor Alumni Association, directly affiliated with the General Association of Alumni of South China University of Technology, was officially established on November 17, 1988, during the university's anniversary celebration. Guan Zhongfan served as the president, with Huang Xianfang, Liu Baiyong, Zou Tengchang, Luo Bochang, and Li Yi as vice presidents, and Chen Puseng as the secretary-general. Huang Meiqian and Jiang Yuying served as deputy secretaries-general. When the Semiconductor Alumni Association was initially established, it started with minimal resources.After obtaining a certificate from the university office, receiving approval from the Tianhe Public Security Bureau and carving out an official seal, the association held a simple meeting to formalize its establishment.

During the university's anniversary celebration in 1992, the Semiconductor Alumni Association held its first meeting in Building 27, attended by semiconductor graduates from home and abroad. The second council was elected, with Shen Yingming, Li Ruxiang, and Zheng Yaozong as honorary presidents, Liu Baiyong as president, Zou Tengchang, Luo Bochang, Li Guanqi, and Zhang Wanzhang as vice presidents, Chen Pusheng as secretary-general, and Huang Meiqian, Jiang Yuying, and Zheng Xueren as deputy secretaries-general. This event received strong support from General Manager Zou Tengchang.

During the university's anniversary celebration in 1998, the Semiconductor Alumni Association held its second meeting, attended by semiconductor graduates from home and abroad. The third council was elected, with Shen Yingming, Li Ruxiang, Huang Xianfang, and Zou Tengchang as honorary presidents, Liu Baiyong as president, Li Guanqi, Zhang Wanzhang, and Zhang Jian as vice presidents, Chen Pusheng as secretary-general, and Huang Meiqian, Jiang Yuying, Zheng Xueren, and Lin Weiming as deputy secretaries-general. This event received strong support from alumni, including a donation of 20,000 yuan from Mr. Du Gang, 10,000 yuan each from He Huixin, Zhao Zhong, the couple Zhang Wanzhang and Wen Yanfang, the couple Feng Tingping and Yan Haiqiong, and Class 60382.

During the university's anniversary celebration in 2002, the Semiconductor Alumni Association held its third meeting, attended by semiconductor graduates from home and abroad. The fourth council was elected, with Li Ruxiang, Huang Xianfang, Li Guanqi, Zou Tengchang, and Zhang Wanzhang as honorary presidents, Liu Baiyong as president, Huang Meiqian, Zheng Xueren, Chen Pusheng, He Huixin, Zhang Jian, Du Gang, and Cai Gang as vice presidents, Li Bin as secretary-general, and Jiang Yuying and Liu Yurong as deputy secretaries-general. This event received strong support from alumni, including a donation of 30,000 yuan from Mr. Du Gang, 20,000 yuan from Mr. Cai Gang, 10,000 yuan each from He Huixin and the couple Zhang Wanzhang and Wen Yanfang, and 5,000 yuan each from the couple Feng Tingping and Yan Haiqiong, the couple Hu Jianzhong and Chen Mengxing, Lu Andian, Liu Shaoxi, Class 60382, and Foshan Lanjian Company.

In 2008, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the semiconductor program, the Semiconductor Alumni Association held its fourth meeting, attended by semiconductor graduates from home and abroad, to celebrate this milestone. The association compiled the 50-Year Development History of the Semiconductor (Microelectronics) Program at South China University of Technology. The fifth council was elected, with Huang Meiqian, Zheng Xueren, and Chen Pusheng as advisors, Li Bin as president, Yao Ruohe, Du Gang, and Zheng Haifa as vice presidents, Chen Ping as secretary-general, and Han Jing and Lü Jing as deputy secretaries-general. This event received strong support from alumni, including a donation of 50,000 yuan from Mr. Zheng Haifa, 40,000 yuan from Class 60384, 30,000 yuan from Guangdong Yuejing High-Tech Company, 11,000 yuan from Class 60282, 8,500 yuan from Class 60385, 8,000 yuan from the couple Zhang Wanzhang and Wen Yanfang, and 5,000 yuan each from the couple Hu Jianzhong and Chen Mengxing, Yang Guangyou, and the Microelectronics Classes of 1994, 1996, and 2000.

In 2012, celebrating the 60th anniversary of South China University of Technology, the Semiconductor Alumni Association held its fifth meeting, attended by semiconductor graduates from home and abroad. The association edited and published the In the Prime of Youth photo collection, which included graduation photos of all 47 undergraduate classes of the Semiconductor (Microelectronics) program, as well as graduation photos of master's and doctoral graduates of the program, along with graduation photos of the Electronic Technology and Microcomputer programs. This collection is the only complete set of graduation photos compiled by South China University of Technology. The meeting elected the sixth council, with Huang Meiqian and Zheng Xueren as advisors, Li Bin as president, Yao Ruohe, Du Gang, Zheng Haifa, and Xu Jianbao as vice presidents, Chen Ping as secretary-general, and Han Jing and Lü Jing as deputy secretaries-general. This event received strong support from alumni, including a donation of 100,000 yuan from Mr. Zheng Haifa, 50,000 yuan from Mr. Du Gang, 30,000 yuan each from Mr. Zhuang Chulin, the couple Liang Jian and Chen Xuan, and Mr. Xu Jianbao, 20,600 yuan from Mr. Chen Zhanlun, 10,000 yuan each from Mr. Zhu Canchao and Class 60377, 9,600 yuan from Class 60285, 6,400 yuan from Class 60378, and 5,000 yuan from Class 60374.
