The National College Student Integrated Circuit Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition is organized by the Talent Exchange Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. First held in 2017, it has been consecutively included in the National College Student Competition Ranking since 2019. With collaborations involving hundreds of leading companies in the industry, it has cumulatively provided over 64,000 high-end talents to the industry, establishing itself as a talent incubator and technology trendsetter in the field of integrated circuits.

This competition is oriented towards serving industrial development needs, aiming to enhance the quality of talent cultivation in China's integrated circuit industry. It creates a collaborative innovation platform integrating industry, academia, research, and application, incorporates industry development requirements into the teaching process, and improves college students' innovative practical abilities, engineering quality, and team spirit, thereby contributing to the sound and rapid development of China's integrated circuit industry.

The 9th competition attracted over 7,400 teams from 517 institutions across China, involving a total of 21,000 students and more than 4,400 supervising teachers. It essentially covered all domestic institutions offering integrated circuit-related programs, achieving 100% coverage of the C9 League universities and demonstration microelectronics schools, and 90% coverage of Project 985 universities.

Achieving Further Success in the National College Student Embedded Chip and System Design Competition

From July 19th to 20th, the semifinals of the 8th National College Student Embedded Chip and System Design Competition (Application Track) were held at Shenzhen Technology University. Among the 11 teams from our School, 9 won first prizes and 2 won second prizes. From August 10th to 13th, the 9 first-prize teams that advanced from the division final represented our School at the National Finals in Nanjing, winning 1 RT-Thread Cup Enterprise Award, 1 national first prize, 2 second prizes, and 6 third prizes.

The National College Student Embedded Chip and System Design Competition has long been listed in the Ministry of Education's National College Student Competition Ranking and has been included in the National College Student Competition Analysis Report for three consecutive years. It aims to strengthen the cultivation of innovative design and engineering practice capabilities among college students in the field of embedded chip and system design applications, promote industry-academia collaboration between universities and integrated circuit-related enterprises, and cultivate outstanding talents with innovative thinking, team spirit, and the ability to solve complex engineering problems This year's competition, themed “芯火征途,你好AI!”(IC Journey: Igniting the Future, Hello AI), attracted participation from 735 universities, 11,800 teams, and over 30,000 teachers and students nationwide.

Garnering More Glory in the National College Student Electronic Design Contest

On August 10th, the Guangdong Division of the 2025 National College Student Electronic Design Contest, organized by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, was successfully held at Sun Yat-sen University. Atotal of 13 teams in our School participated in the Contest. After evaluation and discussion by experts in electronic information from various universities, our School ultimately achieved excellent results: 2 provincial first prizes (recommended for national evaluation), 6 second prizes, and 5 third prizes.

The National College Student Electronic Design Contest, co-organized by the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and the Department of Personnel Education of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, has become one of the largest and most influential national scientific and technological competitions for college students (including undergraduate and vocational), featuring the largest scale and the highest number of participating institutions. This competition adopted a semi-closed, relatively concentrated organization method and lasted for four days and three nights. Participating teams were required to complete the tasks announced by the national organizing committee within the specified time and produce physical works that met the requirements. The tasks covered multiple fields including analog electronic systems, digital circuit design, and embedded system development. The Contest attached great importance to the comprehensive practical abilities of the participants and focused on cultivating students' innovation capability, teamwork spirit, and engineering practice skills.

Promoting education and learning through competition is a consistent talent cultivation philosophy of our School. In the future, we will continue to emphasize the cultivation of students' practical hands-on abilities and consciousness of innovation. By encouraging students to participate in various innovative practice and discipline competitions, we aim to build a platform for cultivating high-quality, interdisciplinary, and innovative talents. We will also optimize the competition environment through multiple channels and perspectives, creating a more open, active, and effective competition atmosphere for the teachers and students of the School, and nurturing more high-quality talents with practical abilities and innovative spirits for the microelectronics industry.
