On the morning of July 4th, the signing and unveiling ceremony of the South China University of Technology (SCUT) - China Resources Microelectronics Joint Laboratory for RF Microelectronics Technology, along with a symposium, was held in Conference Room B1c-101 of the Guangzhou International Campus. Attendees included Mr. He Xiaolong, Chairman of China Resources Microelectronics Limited, Mr. Zhuang Hengqian, Vice President, Mr. Fang Hao, Dean of the Technology Research Institute, Mr. Li Shaoping, Chief Expert of the Application Technology R&D Center, and other distinguished guests. Representing SCUT were Ms. Li Weiqing, Deputy Secretary of the CPC SCUT Committee, Mr. Zhao Jiancang, Director of the Office of Administration of the International Campus, Mr. Yuan Chuansi, Deputy Director of the Office of Science & Technology Cooperation and Transformation, Prof. Xue Quan, Dean of the School of Microelectronics, Prof. Ji Fei, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the School of Microelectronics, and faculty representatives.

At the meeting, Ms. Li Weiqing, Deputy Secretary of the CPC SCUT Committee, extended a warm welcome to the guests. She introduced the development history of SCUT and stated that the establishment of the joint laboratory marks a significant milestone in deepening industry-university-research cooperation between the two parties. It signifies a crucial step forward for SCUT in building a comprehensive innovation ecosystem in the field of microelectronics. She emphasized that SCUT will collaborate with China Resources Microelectronics to leverage its industrial resources in the semiconductor sector, focusing on joint research in areas like RF integrated circuits. The aim is to make breakthroughs in critical 'bottleneck' technologies and provide key technical support for enhancing the self-sufficiency and controllability of China's semiconductor industry.

Mr. He Xiaolong, Chairman of China Resources Microelectronics Limited, expressed sincere gratitude for the warm reception from the university. He introduced the development history of China Resources Microelectronics and stated that the establishment of the joint laboratory is an important practice in responding to national strategic needs and promoting the self-sufficiency and controllability of the semiconductor industry. He pointed out that the academic achievements accumulated by SCUT in the field of RF microelectronics and the industrialization experience of China Resources Microelectronics form a perfect complementarity. Through an innovation mechanism characterized as demand-oriented, project-based, and talent-focused, both parties will accelerate the transformation of scientific research results into real productive forces, injecting new momentum into the development of the integrated circuit industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Prof. Xue Quan, Dean of the School of Microelectronics, expressed sincere gratitude to China Resources Microelectronics for their trust in SCUT and the School. He briefed the attendees on the School's educational achievements, research outcomes, and specific collaboration projects.

Mr. Qi Congming, Senior Manager of the Science and Technology Management Department at China Resources Microelectronics Limited, introduced the main direction and pattern of the cooperation and shared prospects for further collaboration between the two parties.

Finally, as representatives of both parties, Deputy Secretary Li Weiqing and Chairman He Xiaolong jointly unveiled the plaque for the RF Microelectronics Technology Joint Laboratory in the presence of all attendees.

The RF Microelectronics Technology Joint Laboratory is a strategic initiative of the School to deepen university-enterprise cooperation. Based at the forefront of RF technology, the laboratory will be committed to solve common technical challenges in the industry. It will build an innovation ecosystem characterized by demand orientation, collaborative research, and achievement sharing, deepening the integration of industry and education while serving national strategic needs.
