Abstract:
The supply of clean energy is among the most urgent challenges facing our society, and poses fundamental scientific questions. To address these challenges, materials chemistry is poised to play an integral role. In this talk several ceramic solids will be reviewed with respect to their structure, chemistry and electrochemical property. At the corn of this study is the precise characterization that largely relies on powder diffraction with both X-ray and neutron sources, magnetic measurement, and advanced analytical electron microscope. The resulting understanding of the structure-property interaction enables the further optimization and development of studied materials for use in low carbon technologies.
