Introduction to Professor Xiao Hu:
Xiao (Matthew) Hu is a tenured full professor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore. He obtained his bachelor degree from Tsinghua University and master and PhD degree from the University of Manchester. He joined NTU in 1992 as one of the founding faculty members of the materials program and served as the inaugural Head of the Division of Materials Technology from 2000 to 2002. He is the Cluster Head in Materials Science at the Singapore Membrane Technology Centre (SMTC) and the Capability Manager of Advanced Materials in the Temasek Laboratories at NTU (TL@NTU). He has contributed to more than 250 SCI indexed journal papers and has supervised over 50 PhD students and postdoctoral fellows. He is Singapore’s representative at the Federation of Asian Polymer Societies (FAPS), and has recently been inducted into the Council of the Pacific Polymer Federation (PPF). He worked as a visiting professor at Xian Jiaotong University and Cornell University.
