Guangzhou, January 2026 – Over 50 alumni from the Class of 1995 Traffic and Civil Engineering program at South China University of Technology (SCUT) gathered at the School of Civil Engineering and Transportation on the Wushan campus in early 2026 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their enrollment. Traveling from across the country, they reunited to revisit cherished campus memories and reconnect with classmates.

On the afternoon of January 1, a faculty-alumni symposium was held at the Transportation Building. Zhang Weijie, Party Secretary of the School, delivered a welcome address and extended the warmest greetings and sincere New Year wishes to the alumni. She praised the class as a cohesive and supportive collective, noting that as the first cohort of the university's joint education program, the alumni have grown into backbone professionals in the transportation industry, making outstanding contributions to the national Transportation Powerhouse strategy and serving as role models for younger students. She expressed hope that alumni would continue to support the School's development.
Zheng Chuke, Zheng Chuke, Zheng Chuke (Organizational Committee Member) and several former professors attended the symposium. The faculty members expressed deep pride and joy in the alumni's remarkable achievements. During the meeting, alumni representatives expressed heartfelt gratitude to their alma mater and mentors, jointly recalling campus life and sharing career reflections and professional journeys since graduation. They pledged to uphold the university motto's spirit, remain true to the original mission of traffic and civil engineering professionals, and forge ahead with determination.
