Student’s presentation

The 9th ICCEM (Innovation Competition Construction Engineering and Management) competition was held at Tsinghua University in June 29th. Four teams from SCUT had an outstanding performance in this competition. They won the first prize, one second prize (together with the team from Tsinghua University), and a one third prize.  There are 3 teams placed in Top 6 and 4 teams in the 12 teams entered the final. Those achievements made SCUT the best university in this event.  This is also the best performance of the university ever since we join the ICCEM.
  There are 55 teams from 25 universities all over the world participating in the competition with only 12 teams entered the final. Leaded by our tutors Yousong Wang, Yan Zhang, Qiyu Shen, Hui Yan, Fan Wu, Hongyang Li and Yichuan Deng, all of our teams performed well in the competition. They not only presented their works with eloquent English and entertaining language, but also answered judges' questions adequately. Their presentations showed the their knowledge and ability to present， and won applause from judges and audience.
The team that won the first prize impressed the audience by using a video and stage performance in their presentation to demonstrated their work in a lively and amusing way and. The judge from University of Southern California said this group showed great team-work because all of their teammates take part in their presentation.  Moreover, the judge from National University of Singapore commented that this group set a good example, and the future of construction industry belongs to the young generation.

SCUT teachers and students in ICCEM

The teachers in Department of Construction Management in the School of Civil Engineering and Transportation regard this competition as a valuable chance to testify teaching quality and student’s ability. Both the teachers and the students tried their best to prepare for the competition. Our school organized two rehearsals and invited professors and experts who had been to the competition before to help competitors improve and modify their presentation, which laid a good foundation to their final triumph.
