On November 7th, SCUT-TU Delft Civil Engineering Seminar Session of the 7th conference of USE Joint Research Centre was successfully held at the Civil Engineering Department in South China University of Technology.

About 100 people attended the session, including the delegation of TU Delft led by Prof. Geerken (dean of Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geoscience of TU Delft), Prof. Cheng Su (dean of School of Civil Engineering and Transportation), and the academic staffs and graduate students of SCUT.

At the beginning of session, Prof. Su gave an introduction of the School of Civil Engineering and Transportation of SCUT, including the current education and research. Prof. Geerken gave an introduction of Faculty of Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geoscience of TU Delft. Both sides were willing to strengthen the connection between two universities in education and research.
In the academic part, academic staffs of SCUT, Prof. Cheng Su, Prof. Bo Wu, Prof. Xiaolei Han, and Prof. Yi Yang gave presentation; academic staffs of TU Delft, Prof. Geerken, Prof. Jan Rots, Prof. Andrei Metrikine and Dr. Ton van Breek gave presentation.
The delegation of TU Delft, guided by Prof. Zhan Wang (associate dean of School of Civil Engineering and Transportation), visited the State Key Laboratory of Subtropical Building Science, including structural laboratory, structural fire-resistance laboratory, wind tunnel laboratory, shaking table and structural health monitoring laboratory.
Finally, both sides discussed about the form of future cooperation in education and research.
