Seniors and sophomores of Transportation Engineering have internship

Seniors and sophomores of Transportation Engineering had their internship at Operation Control Center of the Line 3 of Guangzhou Metro, Baiyun Airport and container terminal in Nansha Port from Dec. 29, 2014 to Jan. 9, 2015.
  At the Operation Control Center of the Line 3 of Guangzhou Metro, technical personnel introduced daily scheduling control technology of the line and the contingency plans for emergency situations, deepening students' understanding of operations organization and management of urban rails.
  At the vehicle depot of Xiajiao Station of Guangzhou Metro, students visited the maintenance and preparedness of city rail trains, and carefully listened to the explanation of scheduling techniques of scheduling techniques, such as the use of track yard and scheduling of spare vehicles.
  At Guangzhou South China Oceangate Container Terminal, students visited bridge cranes, gantry cranes, forklifts, straddle carriers and other specialized equipment, and also made exchanges on yard partition, turning of containers with technical and accompanying personnel.
  At Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, students made a study and analysis of the effectiveness of signs of the airport through counting the number of passengers of every channel and making questionnaires to some passengers.
  Two-week internship at a few places helped students turn knowledge into practice. "During the internship, the knowledge that we learned from classes is not a pile of words but what we can touch in our life." said on an internship report. (Photos/ News Department of Transportation Engineering)
