陈百基博士于2009年在香港理工大学获得博士学位,同年入职华南理工计算机科学与工程学院,现为吴贤铭智能工程学院的副院长及副教授,亦为机器学习与控制团队实验室的主要负责人之一。目前主要研究领域包括深度学习、图像识别、对抗学习、安全机器学习等,发表多篇国际期刊及会议文章,H-index为23,多次承担及参与国家科学自然基金、广东省自然科学基金、中央高校科研基金等项目,并将研究成果落地,承担不同企业的产科学研项目。陈博士担任国际机器学习领域知名学术期刊Int'l Journal of Machine Learning and Cybernetics 的助理主编及副主编,IEEE Trans. on Cybernetics, Information Sciences 和Advances in Computational Intelligence副主编。并积极参与国际专家活动,为国际组织IEEE SMCS的董事 (2014-2016)及IEEE SMCS香港分会主席(2014-2015),亦协办许多国际会议,担任多个国际会议的组织委员会主席。在指导学生方面,陈博士曾多次指导学生参与国家级大学生创新创业训练计划基金、挑战杯比赛、SRP百步梯攀登计划等,并取得优异成绩,指导学生多次在国际期刊及会议中发表文章。连续多年在学校评教活动中获得学院第一名,并多次获得优秀教学奖和优秀班主任等荣誉称号。
