time: 2017-05-17

SCUT and the Polytechnic University of Turin (Politecnico di  Torino, PDT) signed an agreement on May 8 to advance the second phase of  building the South China-Turin Joint Laboratory.

A delegation led by Professor Bernardino Chiaia, PDT’s Vice Rector for  International Affairs, visited SCUT to discuss further details of the  international partnership with Professor Zhu Min, SCUT’s Vice President.

The two universities, in the second phase of the project, are expected to  offer dual master's degree programs to students as early as possible, while they  will also be seeking for possible collaboration in building the SCUT Guangzhou  International Campus.

Co-founded by SCUT and PDT in May 14, 2015, the South China-Turin Joint  Laboratory is currently running at the end of its first phase that lasted two  years until this month. Fruitful results were produced during this period, with  most of the cooperation conducted in fields such as architecture and automotive  engineering through student exchange programs, scientific research cooperation  and workshops.

Heads of Consulate General of Italy in Guangzhou, SCUT’s International  Office, the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, and the School of  Architecture were also present on the meeting.
