About the Speaker
Professor Jun Ota, professor of Department of precision mechanical engineering and the center for artificial intelligence, University of Tokyo, Japan, and a visiting professor of South China University of Technology. His research focuses on the path planning and control of multi robot systems, the design and optimization of mass production handling systems, and the analysis of human motion functions. Professor Jun Ota is an expert in the field of robotics and automation. He has published more than 190 journal articles, more than 220 international conference papers, and won several research awards and best paper prizes. He has been a member of the Japan Mechanical Society, the Institute of Precision Engineering, the Institute of Surveying and Automatic Control, the Robotics Society and the Service Engineering Society. He is an editor of an International famous journal named “Robotics and Autonomous Systems” ( from 2010 until now), and served as the editorial board of several well-known journals. He is the chairman of DARS International Conference (2008), member of the program committee of ICRA (2001,2003,2004,2006,2013,2014) and IROS (1996,2003,2004,2005,2006,2008,2010). He has been invited to give a speech at several international conference.
