1 Profile of the base Founded in 2006 with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the Research Center of Metallic Materials Processing and Equipment Engineering is mainly engaged in the research and development of prospective and strategic common technology of advanced metallic material equipment and processing, aiming at realizing the integrated research and development of material designing and processing and equipment, obtaining significant science and technology achievements with independent intellectual property, and promoting the development of the industry.
Founded in 2003 with the approval of Guangdong Science and Technology Department, Guangdong Key Lab for New Metallic Material Equipment and Processing mainly undertakes provincial and national key scientific research projects, conducting basic researches on the application of the advanced technology of new metallic material equipment and processing, promoting the technological innovation of the new metallic material and its parts, and raising the technology level of relevant industries.
There are currently 26 staff members in the research base, including 9 professors, 12 associate professors. Among them, 1 is winner of the national science fund for distinguished youths, 1 is the state middle-aged and young expert with outstanding contributions, 1 is German Humboldt scholar, 4 are new century talents of the Ministry of Education. Personnel who returned from overseas account for over 1/3.
2 Typical achievements
1) Powder warm compaction precise processing technology: the base successfully developed new powder warm compaction processing technology, materials, and devices with independent intellectual property, which efficiently improved the density, property, and precision of powder metallurgic products.
