Objectives
This program aims to cultivate high-level professionals who have good moral characters and humanistic accomplishments; who possess a solid theoretical foundation and systematic professional knowledge of material processing engineering; who are well-informed with leading-edge developing trend of material processing; who master necessary experiment and computation skills; and who are able to undertake the work of teaching, scientific researches, and creative technology development in the field of material processing engineering.

Years of Study
The three-year Master’s program requires that students be normally not permitted to enroll more than five years (including suspension from school) to complete the degree.

Cultivation Mode
Advisory system is applied in this program. Students are required to draw up a working plan under the instruction of supervisors in the first two weeks after registration and obtain all the required course credits in the first year. According to Master Degree Candidate Medium-Term Screening Method of South China University of Technology, students should participate in the stage assessment and finish the required social practice in the third semester. A minimum of 40 credits have to completed among which at least 25 credits for degree courses (14 credits for Compulsory Courses, 11 credits for Optional Courses), 1 credit for Literature Review and Thesis Proposal, 2 credits for the participation of academic activities (required attendance of 10 academic conferences, among which 2 must be of interdisciplinary) and 12 credits for the writing of Master’s dissertation.
