An academic report, “3D Printing：From Rapid Prototyping to Rapid Manufacturing - Challenges and Opportunities”, was held successfully by Prof. Chan in Building 19 on Jan. 14, 2014, who comes from University of Southern California. The report was presided by the Dean – Prof. Zhang, SAME students and professors attended as well.

Prof. Chen Yong is a full professor in University of Southern California and is an authority in this filed. The report started from the introduction about 3D printing, then its development and application. After end of the report, several questions about the topic were discussed.
