The notification of residential permission visa 外国人办理签证须知

1. 新生必须在入境后30天内办理居留手续。

如果您所持的签证为“F”签证，拟在华只学习一学期，此类签证在华停留期限为6个月，不需要办理外国人居留许可。

如果您所持的签证为“X”或“L”签证，则要办理外国人居留许可。

1. A student’s need for a residence permit depends on his/her visa type. 

If a student has an ‘F’ (business) visa with six months’ validity and only plans to study in China for one semester, 

he/she does not need to apply for a residence permit. 

Students with ‘X’ (student) or ‘L’ (tourist) visas must apply for residence permits within 30 days after entering China.

2-1、For the students have the JW-202 form.

持L旅游签证和X学习签证的同学，有JW202表即可做居留许可签证，首先要经过体检。

l\ 办理居留许可需要体检，体检所需的证件：

五张一寸的彩色照片

Fiveone inch size colorful personal photos

护照的原件和一份复印件

Theoriginal and one copy of your passport

2-3、如何准备申请材料及文件：

护照、录取通知书、临时居住证明、照片回执、JW202表、体检报告、费用缴款单（学费、住宿费、保险费）

A valid Passport and its copy, Admission Notice, Stamped RegistrationForm of Temporary Residence for Visitors，Photo receipt, JW202 Form, Medical Reports, PaymentReceipts (incl. Tuition Fee, Dormitory Fee, and Insurance Fee)

临时居住证明取得：咨询办公室208的老师，携带照片及护照到公安局办理临时居住证明，免费；

 Registration Form of Temporary Residencefor Visitors: Contactthe teachers at B1-208 for advice. Apply for the Registration Form of TemporaryResidence for Visitors with your passport and photo free of charge in thepolice station. 

l 照片回执取得：去照相馆办理签证照片，会取得照片回执，费用约30元；

Photo receipt: You mayobtain your receipt when you have your photo taken at the designated photostudio. The estimated cost is 30 RMB. 

l 体检报告取得：携带护照、6张2寸照片，龙口西外国人体检中心进行体检，费用约650元。

Medical Reports: You mayobtain your medical reports when you take your physical examination atGuangdong Healthcare Center for International Travels (located at LongKou XiRoad Tianhe District). The estimated cost is 650 RMB. 

l\ 取得申请证明材料，再带这些材料去海珠广场广州市出入境管理处办理签证（400/800元）。办理新签证后要到派出所更新签证信息。

Bring all the required documents to Ms. Feng for her confirmationget the application form at B1-208.Then go to apply for your visa/residencepermit at the office of Exit and Entry Administration of Guangzhou PublicSecurity Bureau (located at Haizhu Square). The estimated cost is 400-800 RMB.Finally go to report your updated visa information at the local policestation.

l\ 留学生必须注意自己的签证是否过期，根据出入境管理局的规定，签证过期一天需要罚500元，且过期学生将会进入黑名单，以后签证延期都会有很多限制，请同学们多加注意。另外，X签证和旅游L签证一般只有30天的停留期，同学们需要抓紧时间将这个签证转为居留许可。

Visa extending ：Do NOT let your visa expire, or else, you wouldget a fine of 500 RMB for each expiring day, furthermore, the immigrationoffice will put you in the black list and they will impose more restrictions onyour future visa extending. Also, be remember that the L and X visa only have30 days of duration, you must change into resident permit when this visaexpire.

所有同学请在办理签证7天后,及时到出入境拿回护照，否则后果自负。

Please get your passport back from the office of Exit and Entry Administration of Guangzhou Public

Security Bureau within 7days. 

3. 居留许可任何一项内容若有变化，均须在公安机关规定的期限内，及时办理变更或延期手续。逾期不办者，公安部门按规定处罚。办理时填写《外国人签证、居留许可申请表》，经学校核实后，持该表和居留许可到广州市公安局外国人管理科办理居留许可变更手续。

3. Changes and extensions of residence permits must be done by the Public Security Bureau (PSB) prior to expiration of the permit. Those whose residence permits expire will be fined by the PSB. Changes to residence permits can be done with the ‘Visa and Residence Permit Application Form’. After SIE has checked the form, students should bring it and their residence permit to the Foreign Affairs Division of the Guangzhou PSB. 

4. 留学生在华学习期间，拘留许可如有遗失，必须按规定在《广州日报》登作废声明，同时持学校介绍信到广州市公安局外国人管理科申请补领。护照如有遗失，应及时向公安局报失，由公安局出具证明，再向本国驻华使馆申请补发。补发新护照后，要及时到公安局办理居留许可上护照号码的变更手续。

4. If a student loses his/her residence permit while in China, he/she must reapply for a new residence permit with a recommendation letter from SCUT. If a student loses his/her passport, he/she must report it to the PSB, who will give him/her a letter of acknowledgement. The student must then get a new passport from his/her embassy or consulate and notify PSB of the new passport number. 

5. 留学生的直系亲属或朋友来华探亲，应向与中国国际旅行社有业务关系的本国旅游部门申请办理来华手续，学校不办理此类业务。

5. International guests of international students should apply for Chinese visas in their home countries at Chinese embassies or consulates or in tourist agencies with links to the appropriate Chinese agencies. SCUT does not handle such matters.
