I. Culturing Objectives
  The Culturing Objectives is to make students possess advanced talents with a solid mathematical foundation theory, a systematic deep expertise, and rigorous and realistic scientific attitude. In addition, they will have the ability to undertake independent scientific research in the major of Applications Mathematics.

II.Program Duration
  The educational system of graduate students for master degree is four years. The study time for a graduate student (including leave of absence) must be on less than six years.

III. Main Research Fields
  01. Nonlinear partial differential equations and its application
  02. Differential equations and dynamical systems
  03. Fractal geometry and geometric measure theory
  04. Mathematical Physics
  05. Group theory and algebraic combinatorics

IV. Culture Methods
  It is that the instructor responsibility for postgraduate culturing. Ph.D should establish culturing plan under the guidance of own instructor within two weeks, take part in the medium term examination in accordance with "Ph.D medium term examination assessment methods of South China University of Technology" before the end of the third semester, and completed social practice.

V. Credit Requirements
  The total credits for Ph.D are no less than 36, in which no less than 10 credits are for academic degree courses, no less than 8 credits for non-degree courses, 1 credit for the opening report, 2 credits for academic activities (attending academic reports at least 15 times, in which 3 times for interdisciplinary reports) and 15 credits for the required dissertation. 

VI. Dissertation
  Ph.D should establish the work plan of dissertation, and write commencement report in the third semester. The requirements about the publication of academic papers must be met before applying for degree. After completing the degree (graduation) thesis, students will be organized to reply for Degree thesis according to "Degree Regulations of South China University of Technology for interim Implementation" and "Relevant provisions of South China University of Technology on graduate student applying for graduate thesis".
