Program Overview

This program focuses on the cultivation of theoretical knowledge and professional skills. Through practical training, it aims to develop compound technical talents who possess strong independent thinking ability, innovative ability, communication and collaboration skills, and international competitiveness. These talents should be able to adapt well to both individual and team work environments, and apply interdisciplinary knowledge and scientific methods to address complex marine engineering problems.

The Master program's research interests are in 1) Design and Manufacturing of Ships and Offshore Structure; 2) Marine Environment and Resources.

The Doctoral program's research interests are in Marine Environment and Resources.

Student Outcomes

It provides students with the following skills: (1) develop advanced expertise with solid foundational knowledge and professional proficiency in naval architecture and marine engineering, (2) understand the current status and development trends of the discipline, (3) master fundamental testing techniques in marine engineering, (4) possess skills in data analysis and computer applications, and (5) lead and manage research projects.

Entry Requirements

  • Master Programs: Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and be under the age of 35.

  • Ph.D Programs: Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and be under the age of 45.

Fees and Funding

Tuition Fee

  • Master Program: 32,000 CNY/year

  • PhD Program: 40,000 CNY/year

Scholarships and Application Deadlines

  • Chinese Government Scholarship: 1st October – February of the following year

  • Guangdong Provincial Government Scholarship (for New Students): June 30

  • SCUT Outstanding International Student Scholarship (for New Students): June 30
