The S. M. Wu School of Intelligent Engineering at the South China University of Technology is a new engineering school. Intelligent Engineering is a newly formed area of study involving subjects such as artificial intelligence, big data, computer control, robotics and automation, advanced manufacturing, internet of things, as well as sensors and actuators. The school is name after the late Prof. S. M. Wu, who is a pioneer in this area. The school is to offer both undergraduate and graduate programs and conduct state-of-the-art scientific research. Our academic mission is to engage students in acquiring the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to assume leadership in the global economy. 

The school invites applications for tenue-track faculty positions at all ranks. All positions require a doctorate degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or closely related areas. For the assistant professor position, two years of post-doctoral experience is preferred. For the associate professor position, 7 years of working experience is anticipated. For the full professor position, a proven success record is needed. For exceptional applicants, chair professor position can also be offered. For those with less experience, non-tenue-track research assistant professor with possible conversion to tenue-track positions will be considered. All positions need strong commitment to excellence in research and teaching. Effective written and oral communication in English is required. We offer a salary and benefit package that is comparable to North America. Relocation cost and start-up funds may also be available.

The school is one of the first three schools in the international campus in South China University of Technology.  It is located in Guangzhou, China, the heart of the Pearl River Delta Bay area, known as one of the most dynamic economic zones in the world. Under the new Guangdong – Hong Kong – Macau Bay directive, the region is quickly becoming a magnet for developing the next generation technologies.
