1. Introduction
To implement "One Belt One Road initiative" put forward by the General Secretary Xi Jinping and to enhance political mutual trust, economic integration and people-to-people exchanges between China and ASEAN countries, South China University of Technology (SCUT) has initiated Master of Food Science and Engineering-International Students Program (MFSE-ISP), aim to cultivate advanced scientific and technical personnel in the field of food science and engineering with solid knowledge of the basics and systems of food science and engineering theory, the ability to independently engage in relevant engineering and technical work and scientific research, and comprehensive development.The program is funded by China Government Scholarship and Guangdong Government Outstanding International Students Scholarship, more than ten students from ASEAN and other countries of the inaugural batch (2019) of the MEFE-ISP have enrolled at SCUT.
