Prof. Ning Li, a senior research professor from HongKong University of Science and Technology visited our School on October 9th, 2018. He is the editor of Molecular Cellular Proteomics as well as several international journals. He gave an impressive presentation on “Application of Molecular and Quantitative PTM Proteomics and Interactomics in Study of Cell Signaling” to the staffs and students from our University and South China Agricultural University.

During the seminar, Prof. Li detailedly introduced the background and process of Mass Spectrometry-based quantitative PTM proteomic analysis created by his research team, and briefly shared four advanced quantitative PTM Interactomics techniques: SILIA, AQUIP, OxNSIL and IPQCX. He presented the 4C(Chemical labeling, Chromatographic enrichment, Computational analysis of proteomic data and Confirmation)process in quantitative PTM proteomics and interactomics. After that, he showed the research achievement of his team in the discovery of ethylene signaling pathways, ethylene’s dual-opposing effect and touch response in Arabidopsis using PTM proteomic analysis. Finally, Prof. Li answered several questions from audients and welcomed the staffs and students to visit the HongKong University of Science and technology for academic exchanges. (By Shiqi Lin)
