Engineering and Technological Research Centre of Guangdong Province on Intelligent Sensing and Process Control of Cold Chain Foods was established in November 2016, and Professor Da-Wen Sun is the director of the research centre. 

Specific research fields include: (1) Basic research on heat and mass transfer of food cooling and storage in cold chain process; (2) Changes of the properties and regulation of food in cooling storage and freezing storage; (3) Rapid intelligent sensing and logistics information management research of food quality during cold chain process; (4) Advanced equipment creation and its application research to adapt modern large-scale cold chain system.

In order to solve the key problems of rapid perception, good regulation and effective value-added of agricultural products’ freshness in the cold chain process, the center has made an innovative upgrade to the existing hysteresis perception, regulation and value-added technology, and strive to develope food-quality cold chain logistics optimization system, to achieve the cold chain system of modern large-scale complex agricultural products of rapid perception - timely regulation - good quality objectives.
