Institute of Food  Nutrition and Health is supported by the National Engineering Laboratory of Deep-processing of Wheat and Corn, the Ministry of Education Engineering Research Center of Starch and Deep-processing plant protein, and Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Natural Products Green-processing and Safety. The institute has 28 faculty staffs, and of them, 14 are professors, 16 are approved as supervisors of doctoral candidate. Moreover, many of our staffs have been entitled different academic honors.

In recent five years, more than 50 project financed by Ministry of Science and Technology, National Foundation of Natural Science and other resources were conducted in the Institute. More than 350 publications have been accepted by international journals in Food Science area and more than 100 patterns have been authorized.

The Institute focuses on:

·Modification of plant protein, construction of protein colloid microstructure, and controlled-release of flavor compounds.

·New material form natural starch, digestible ability of starch and health.

·Effects of health food on chronic diseases, natural products with bioactivity of anticancer and anti-virus.

The institute has been awarded the second class National Prize for Progress in Science and Technology in 2011 and 2015, respectively.
