Objectives
The program aims to cultivate high-level specialized professionals who are well-developed morally, intellectually and physically. Students are required to be equipped with a solid theoretical foundation and professional knowledge and experiment skills; who are well-informed with the developing trend of the discipline both at home and abroad; who have strong abilities to undertake independent scientific researches, to solve engineering technical problems and to bring news ideas. Students are expected to be competent to engage in teaching, scientific researches, technology development and management jobs.

Cultivation Mode
Advisory system is applied in this program. Students should set out a working program with the instruction of their supervisors in the first two weeks after registration. Students are supposed to participate in the stage assessment according to Master Degree Candidate Medium-Term Screening Method of South China University of Technology and complete the required social practices before the end of the third semester.
Dissertation
Thesis Proposals should be finished with the instruction of supervisors before the end of the third semester. Before applying for Thesis Defense, graduates are required to publish officially at least one academic paper in journals of China’s science and technology or core journals with South China University of Technology signed as the first unit, or the student signed as the first author or the supervisor signed as the first author and the student the second. Thesis defense will be arranged according to Rules for the Implementation of Graduation Degrees of South China University of Technology and Regulations of the Applications for Thesis Defense of South China University of Technology on the completion of theses.
