In the research of the national natural science fund project, our team member, professor Jin-hua Wu developed a new technology for the rapid remediation of soil and groundwater that contaminated by heavy metals via using nano-zero-valent iron and anaerobic microorganism. The performances of adsorption, reduction and fixation of heavy metal were significantly improved through microbial corrosion and mineralization, and the service life of the zero-valent iron were extended by 1~2 times.
