Our team member, Professor Ping-xiao Wu investigated the adsorption behavior of Tl(Ⅰ) on the surface of the vermiculite-manganese dioxide composite material (Ver-MnO2). The migration and transformation mechanism of Tl (I) on Ver-MnO2 surface are adsorption, ion exchange and oxidation. The effective breakthrough volume in Tl(I) (20 g·L-1) contaminated groundwater by Ver-MnO2 could up to 900 bed volume. Therefore, the VER-MnO2 can effectively capture Tl (I) in the environment to prevent groundwater pollution and further provide a good idea for emergency repair of heavy metal thallium.(Science of The Total Environment, 2019.DOI: 10.1016/j.scitotenv.2019.03.079)
