Title: Intelligent networks and systems – Part 2 Network Digital Twins
Abstract: Today’s communication network is becoming more and more complex due to the introduction of 5G and IoT/IIoT. Managing a network of this unprecedented complexity would benefit greatly from a digital twin. A network digital twin refers to a computer simulation model of the communication network, along with its operating environment and the application traffic that it carries. The digital twin can be used to study the behaviour of its physical counterpart under a diverse set of operating conditions, including cyber-attacks, and adjust its actual network configuration as needed. It could also be used for effective management of network infrastructure and keeping track of configuration changes. In this talk, I will first talk about network digital twins. Then, I will introduce our recent work that leverages network digital twins to carry out effective network management. Finally, I will talk about research challenges and open issues.
主讲人简介：Dr. Yulei Wu现为英国埃克塞特大学（University of Exeter）计算机系副教授，在学术界具有较高的声誉，在国际著名期刊（例如IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing等）和重要会议上(例如Globecom, ICC, WCNC等)发表上述领域的论文100余篇。得到来自英国EPRSC、London Mathematical Society、工业界以及学校的Innovation Platform的多项科研资助。研究方向为智能网络与网络系统。
