The School carried out foreign exchanges actively and established some close cooperation with well-known research institutions in Britain, the United States, Australia and South Africa, and so on. Also, the School established a strategic alliance with domestic well-known universities and academic institutions.
Every year, the School has a plan to send some excellent young teachers abroad for further study, scientific cooperation and academic visit. Besides, she actively organizes and hosts some important academic conferences at home and abroad.
On the afternoon of Dec. 19, Craig C Mello, winner of 2006 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, gave a lecture under the title of "RNA Interference Mechanism – Double-strand RNA Silent Gene" at the Music Hall on SCUT South Campus. It is reported that this was the first symposium of "Approaching Nobel" series, one of the 60th Anniversary commemorative activities.
