Recently, the 9th Guangdong Provincial Philosophy and Social Sciences Outstanding Achievement Award Ceremony was held in Guangzhou. Chen Jianwen, member of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and Minister of the Propaganda Department, attended the conference and delivered a speech. Wang Xi, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province, Huang Wu, Vice Chairman of the Guangdong Provincial Political Consultative Conference and Chairman of the Provincial Zhigong Party, as well as representatives of outstanding social scientists and winners of the Excellent Achievement Award, attended the conference. Professor Wu Zhicai from our department was invited to attend the conference and received the award as a representative of the 9th Guangdong Provincial Philosophy and Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award.
It is reported that the Guangdong Provincial Excellent Achievement Award for Philosophy and Social Sciences has been established since 2004, and is selected and commended every two years. It is the highest government award for philosophy and social sciences in Guangdong Province. Our department's Research Report on the Development of Global Tourism in Guangdong Province written by Wu Zhicai, Zhang Buhong, Zheng Zhongqiang, and Li Muchun won the first prize of the 9th Guangdong Provincial Philosophy and Social Science Excellent Achievement Award. This is the first provincial social science first prize winning achievement of our department.
The research report on the development of comprehensive tourism in Guangdong Province comprehensively summarizes the background of Guangdong's tourism development, deeply analyzes the current situation and path of Guangdong's comprehensive tourism development, and proposes relevant countermeasures and suggestions. The results consist of a 1+3 results system, which includes one main report and three extended results (implementation plan, industry report, construction guidelines). It is a systematic and creative action plan covering program guidance industry guidance implementation approach. The implementation plan was adopted and issued for implementation by relevant departments, and the main viewpoints of the results were cited by leaders at the provincial tourism work site meeting. Industry reports and construction guidelines have been adopted by relevant departments. This achievement has propelled the concept of holistic tourism from practice to theory, resulting in six landmark academic journal achievements and two academic works on holistic tourism. As a policy guideline that integrates the entire process, it has important promotional value in guiding local practices at different scales in Guangdong Province, cities, and counties. The achievements have been widely reproduced on national platforms such as the Chinese Government website, People's Daily Online, Guangming website, and China Economic Network, as well as on the official websites of provincial and municipal governments and mainstream media, becoming a model for the comprehensive transformation of scientific research achievements into government, industry, research, and media.
