On the afternoon of January 5, 2024, Professor Li Muchun led MEM 2023 students Wu Yulun and Zou Lijuan, as well as 2022 student Yang Jiamin, to visit MEM's external supervisor, Mr. Xie Meng, Vice Chairman and CEO of Zhengjia Enterprise Group Co., Ltd., to discuss graduation thesis topics and related research reports.

Mr. Xie Meng listened carefully to the topic selection reports of Wu Yulun and Zou Lijuan, and provided in-depth guidance on their ideas for thesis topics and related research reports.

Wu Yulun and Zou Lijuan reported in detail to Mr. Xie about their preliminary ideas for their graduation thesis, including research questions, research background, core concepts, and research content.

Mr. Xie provided valuable opinions and forward-looking guidance on the topic selection ideas of the two students. He pointed out that the topic of the graduation thesis is essentially to solve practical problems. Therefore, students' research should have a certain universal significance, which can provide reference value and inspiration for related industries, and also have enlightening significance for their current work. In the process of selecting a topic for a thesis, we should pay special attention to human factors. Changes in human behavior, values, and lifestyles can lead to changes in demand and market conditions. It is important to think beyond overly specific issues and delve into the underlying logic behind phenomena at a higher level. At the same time, Mr. Xie also pointed out that we should attach importance to brand building, and the value of brands will be more prominent in today's society and even in the future. Zhengjia Planet is using the brand values of imagination, creativity, companionship, and love to wholeheartedly create a city micro vacation destination with brand power and warmth for its target customer group. Behind an impressive and moving brand, there must be a specific worldview, cosmology, and national identity, and we should do the same in our research.

As the external supervisor of the MEM project for digital cultural tourism and exhibition engineering management at South China University of Technology, Mr. Xie's earnest guidance on the topic selection of students' papers has opened up their thinking and benefited them greatly. The students expressed that they will carefully digest and absorb the opinions of their supervisors, further conduct sufficient theoretical preparation and practical research around relevant issues, look beyond the problems to the essence, not disappoint the expectations of their supervisors, and conscientiously prepare their graduation thesis.
