On September 25, 2023, Prof. Tahir Mumtaz Awan, Director of the China Studies Center of the COMSATS University Islamabad was invited by the School of Public Administration to give an academic lecture with the theme of “A Decade of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor: Achievements and Prospects”. The lecture was chaired by Professor Jia Hailong, Director of the India-Pakistan Research Center, School of Public Administration.
Professor Awan elaborated on the achievements of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor in the past ten years and its future development direction from various aspects. First of all, Professor Awan gave specific and vivid explanations in the fields of energy, infrastructure, and industrial cooperation. Secondly, Professor Awan sorted out the huge positive impact of China-Pakistan cooperation on Pakistan’s economic development with relevant statistical data. Finally, Professor Awan analyzed the problems of China-Pakistan cooperation and possible solutions.
Professor Jia Hailong, Professor Huang Yan, Professor Yu Dengke, and students from the School of Public Administration and the School of Marxism attended the lecture. This lecture has set up a platform for the exchange of frontier issues between India and Pakistan. The exchange with experts in related fields will not only help students expand their research in the field of global governance but also facilitate the in-depth promotion of the research of India-Pakistan Research Center.
