On January 12th 2021, SPA held the 89th academic workshop by inviting Prof. Bo Zhiyue to give a lecture on the theme of “The Evolution of the International System -- An Unprecedented Change in a Century”. Prof. Bo was with the XIPU Institution, a think tank established by Xi 'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University.

The lecture was divided into four parts: the exchanges between Prof. Morton A. Kaplan and Prof. Bo, the historical evolution of the international political system, the specific meaning of the great change, the new pattern of international politics and the prospect of China's peaceful development.

First, Prof. Bo talked about his academic exchanges and cooperation with Professor Kaplan. Then, Prof. Bo introduced the four stages of the international political system and the specific implications of the current great change.

Finally, Prof. Bo explained the new international political pattern and the prospect of China’s peaceful development from four aspects: the new international political pattern, China's international peace situation, China's international development potential, and China's dual circulation strategy.
