time: 2019-04-19

A delegation from University of Bristol paid a visit to SPA and had a productive conversation with representative of SPA on delivering joint programs of master’s degree.

The delegation, consisting of three members, were received by HUANG Yan, Deputy Dean of SPA, at the NO.5 Building on April 16.

HUANG Yan, after summarizing the current discipline development of SPA, took the focus on the situation of postgraduate students’ cultivation, which he expected to strengthen ties between SCUT and UOB and thus to progress the partnership with UOB in public policy.

Dr. Noemi Lendvai-Bainton, Senior Lecturer in Comparative Urban and Public Policy of UOB, said in the meeting that UOB values the educational cooperation with SCUT, and she was looking forward to expanding partnership onto UOB’s MSc Public Policy.

The two parties thus reached the consensus that UOB and SCUT will jointly deliver a collaborative programme that may lead to each institution awarding a Masters degree to students from SCUT. Under the Programme SCUT students will spend year one and year three studying at SCUT and year two studying at UOB.

After the Meeting, Dr. Noemi Lendvai-Bainton, delivered a guest lecture titled Citizenship and the European Union: the emergence of supranational citizenship, which attracted the participation of students and faculty members from different majors.
