Building on the successful experience of the teachers’ academic training programme delivered by the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), SPA-SCUT held the 2nd Professional Training Programme for faculty members in Lingnan University, one of a strategic partner of SCUT. The Training programme starts from 15 to 20 July 2018. A group of 22 delegates came to visit Lingnan University on 16 July and Professor Joshua Mok, Vice President of Lingnan University, gave a welcoming remark, followed by a talk on “New Opportunities for Big Bay Area Development: Challenges and Possibilities for Hong Kong in the International Education Context”.
Speakers from Lingnan University and other university, as well as Hong Kong Foundation and Legislative Council of HKSAR Government introduce to the delegates not only issues related to university research and academic development but also policy and politics in Hong Kong. The Professional Training Programme is part of the strategic reaching out to the frontier academic theory and practice through teachers’ overseas training. The visit also provides a great opportunity for colleagues from both universities to engage in conversations about more collaboration in future.
