On January 11, Department of Education of Guangdong province announced the list of key construction disciplines. Public administration as the first level subject, was approved as one of the eight prepotent key construction discipline, which was jointly submitted by School of Public Administration at South China University of Technology (SPA-SCUT) and People's Government of Dongguan Municipality--Tsinghua University.

The successful application for provincial key discipline is another great event after the approval of doctoral program of public management, marking a new step for the development of the discipline. In the future, our school will integrate the research strengths of South China University of Technology and Tsinghua University, continually enhance the capacity to support the innovation and development strategy of Guangdong province, serve the local economic and social development and strive to make the public administration as “a national well-known brand with unique characteristic and a prepotent key construction discipline in Southern China”.
