On June 6, a delegation of The Education University of Hong Kong(EdUHK), led by Dr. Choi Sam Chun Wai, paid a visit to the School of Public Administration, South China University of Technology (SPA-SCUT).

In the afternoon, the representative of both parties held an academic exchange activity at NO.5 building; and some undergraduates of School of Public Administration also attended the meeting. Firstly, MS. LIU Zhiyan, the school head responsible for student affairs, started with a welcome speech in Cantonese and hoped that both parties could strengthen cooperation in related fields in the near future.

After that, two keynote speeches were respectively delivered by Prof. YANG Mu from SCUT Institute of Public Policy and Prof. YU Feng from SPA-SCUT. From a macro perpective, Prof. YANG Mu presented his speech in four main aspects: The new stage of cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao (GD-HK-MO), main features of the world bay areas, the nature and developing strategy of GD-HK-MO bay area, eliciting some tentative ideas of building a world-class city cluster in the area of GD-HK-MO. Prof. YU Feng specifically focused on the angle of research method, and made a detailed analysis of how to measure, compare and appraise the development of bay area by using statistical indicators. Then the students from two universities pursued a series of warm and friendly group discussions with topics on common interests.

Finally, on behalf of each part, Deputy Director HUANG Fei from the Office for Hong Kong, Macao & Taiwan Affairs and Dr. Choi Sam Chun Wai exchanged souvenirs. This visit enhanced communication between students and teachers, and also helped facilitate the friendly exchange and cooperation between SCUT and EdUHK.
