The research institute is constituted by three centers, including government decision and developing strategy, selection and appraisal of leaders, and local government performance evaluation respectively. These centers launch research depending on two doctor stations orientated in management decision & systematical theory and Marxism in China and some master programs in public administration. 

Currently, there are 18 professional researchers in the institute, with 7 professors, 6 associate professors, among them 13 were entitled with doctor degree. Ten part time researchers are government officials and national renowned experts in this field. Since 2006, these professionals have taken 7 national social (natural) science fund events, 1  scientific fund event for outstanding young scholars, 22 projects from the Ministry of Education, the provincial and city government(including the new century talent support program of the Ministry of Education), 17 crosswise research. Each person was granted more than 300thousand research funds. Besides, they have published 12 books, 30 CSSCI articles and have earned 7 provincial awards.
