Large Software  Development and Application Academic Team

The team focuses on the  development of large software and operating mode, including loosely coupled  software integration, software dynamic assembly, parallel software engineering,  large software and environmental integration applications. The team is expertise  on three academic directions, large software development technology, large  software optimization technology and large software database technology; it has  8 main members, including 3 professors, 2 associate professors, and all members  have doctorate. Around large software developments and applications, the team in  recent years undertook and completed many national technology projects,  including the National Natural Science Foundation, Guangdong major science and  technology projects, etc. Over the last five years, the team have published more  than 100 papers in top academic conferences and journal including IEEE Journal,  ACM Journal, as well as 15 patents, 10 software copyright. Team research results  also formed a series of parallel large-scale software products on building  energy-saving information technology software, including South China University  of Technology campus, which has more than 80 buildings and achieved significant  energy efficiency and become the domestic green campus information construction  model.

Software System  Integration and Application Academic Team

The team consists of six  teachers from the Software Institute, including two professors, doctoral tutor,  four young doctors, lecturers. In recent years the team has undertaken many  national research projects, dozens of business cooperation projects.

The team mainly study a series  of problems such as service computing, network computing, software system  structure, software interoperation and software system integration in  distributed system. They have improved the agility of IT business system and  supported rapid business change, including data integration and modeling,  application integration and interoperability, business process modeling and  management, software integration architecture, system security and the  corresponding tools and the environment.

Intelligent Software and  Robot Research Team

The team is committed to  intelligent software and robot key technology research and development. In  recent years, they have undertaken more than 30 national or Guangdong projects  and published more than 50 papers at the international or national journals and  conferences. They have applied 2 national invention patents and more than 10 new  patents. The team has more than 40 researchers, who have developed a variety of  intelligent robot systems and products, including intelligent service robots,  detection robots, humanoid robots, soccer robots and entertainment robots, etc.  They have harvested many trophies in the domestic or international robot  competition.

Database and Network Computing Research Team

Based on the basic software and application technology of Guangdong Province,

the team mainly does research on database technology, data warehouse technology, software architecture technology, parallel computing technology and distributed computing technology, and so on.

Scientific research equipment consists of HP blade server, SUN880 server, Intel architecture multi-core server, logic analyzer and storage array and other value of more than 100 million large-scale research and development equipment.

Laboratories and related enterprises set up a Intel-South China University of Technology multi-core technology joint laboratory, Intel-South China University of Technology Embedded Technology Joint Laboratory and Guangdong Zhitong Talent Information Technology Research Center and other research institutions.
