Laboratory of Intelligent Software and Robotics is located in the B8 building on the southern campus of SCUT, engaging in the research, development and education of Intelligent Software and Robotics. Currently there are 11 teachers (all doctors) in the laboratory, 2 of whom are doctoral supervisors. The number of doctors and masters working in the laboratory every year is 60 plus.
Now it cooperates with Canada University of Waterloo, Canada University of Victoria, Canada University of Ottawa, National University of Singapore, Hong KongUniversity and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
Each year more than 20 senior undergraduates enter the laboratory as interns. Among them more than 10 persons are recommended for admission to elite schools at home and abroad to study for a master’s degree or a doctor's degree without taking an entrance exam, such as National University of Singapore, Peking University, Zhejiang University. Most of the students that hunt for jobs after graduation join famous IT enterprises including IBM, Netease, NORTEL, Tencent, Kingdee(China), Kingsoft, Huawei, Xunlei, Ericsson, China Telecom Guangdong and Chinamobile Guangdong.
In recent years, the laboratory has taken over 17 projects of fundamental researches and plans of science and technology in China, GuangdongProvince, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. 6 provincial achievements in scientific research, 3 provincial progress prizes in science and technology and 8 first prizes of robot games at home and abroad were obtained.
