华南理工大学“海内外优秀青年学者论坛”旨在面向全球邀请拥有不同学术背景的青年才俊,围绕国际科学前沿、热点研究领域以及行业产业的技术问题等展开探讨和交流。通过这个平台,互相启迪、开拓视野,增强国际交流与合作,促进双方共同发展。现将近期学术活动安排如下:

何涛: Organic Single Crystal FETs  Anisotropy, Polymorphs, Stereoisomers and Intrinsic Potential Defects as well as Insulator-Metal Phase Transition

报告简介

Physical properties of active materials built up from small molecules are dictated by their molecular packing in the solid state. Although lots of effects have been given to understand charge transport in organic devices, many issues/mysteries have been left. Some organic semiconductor materials that appear to be promising in terms of their solid state packing and electronic structure (π–π overlap) do not perform well in commonly employed field effect transport measurements, even in single crystal form, because of the intrinsic/extrinsic disorder.My work is straightforward to explore spatially resolved analytical tools and detect such disorder, so as to reveal superior transport properties in organic single crystal transistors and rebuild the link between performance and structure.

Five topics for this speech: (1) Three-Dimensional Charge Transport; (2) Cl2‑NDI Polymorphs; (3) Impact of 2-Ethylhexyl Stereoisomers on the Electrical Performance; (4) Crystal Step Edges Can Trap Electrons and Trap healing on the Surfaces of n-type Organic Semiconductors; (5) Ion-size Tuning of Charge Accumulation and Insulator-Metal phase transition in C60 Single Crystal EDLTs.

报告人简介:

何涛, 2012年毕业于山东大学获材料学博士学位,2012-2014年在维尔兹堡大学作博士后,目前在明尼苏达大学作博士后工作。主要致力于有机单晶的生长、结构和缺陷的解析以及光电性能的研究,进而构建高性能器件和揭示材料的本征性能。在国际期刊上发表学术论文12篇,其中以第一作者在Nat.Commun.发表论文两篇、Adv.Mater.论文两篇;首次揭示了基于萘酰胺衍生物的多晶型,并研究了多晶型相转变对电荷传输的影响。文章发表在Nat. Commun.上,评为“in the top 5% of all articles scored by Altmetric”。
