摘要:


Printed electronics offers an appealing approach to creating the long‐sought after large‐area, flexible, stretchable and ultra‐low‐cost electronic devices. To realize this emerging technology, manufacture of semiconductor devices by high‐speed printing, instead of traditional photolithographic processes, would be paramount. Foremost among critical enablers to propel this paradigm shift in manufacturing is a performance‐enabling materials suite of semiconductor, conductor and dielectric materials for printing functionally capable thin‐film transistors (TFTs) – fundamental building blocks of microelectronics. This presentation discusses the issues, challenges, and advances in the development of thin‐film transistor materials over the last decade and the outlook for this emerging technology moving forward. Particular emphasis will be devoted to discussion of advances in polymer semiconductors with field‐effect mobility progressing from well below 10‐2 cm2V‐1s‐1 a decade ago to about 10 cm2V‐1s‐1 today, together with excellent device shelf‐life and operational stability characteristics.
